What's improper is someone who has been away from the game for years to come back try to tell the dedicated players that have stayed with this game, while the owner of this game abandoned it, that our ways are wrong. It's our tournaments and we'll set them up the way we want. If Cruncher feels the need to hold her own tournament with her rules, then by all means she can give it a shot. Just don't expect the players that she has alienated to be a part of it. As far as proof, the players that have witnessed Cruncher's escapades in past tournaments are long gone. Grazhoppa, Stonewall, River Rat, and Soul I'm sure would have a few stories to tell if they were still around.
You, yourself, already said you've only known Cruncher "casually", so maybe you should join her corp so you can find out exactly what you "don't" know.
Also, many players just witnessed her intentions to megacorp in the past ICE tourney practice game.
