Re: Due to lack of interest...
This anti megacorp etc. obsession is strictly post MBBS. Prior to TWGS, we more or less had to megacorp, a Red Corp and a Blue Corp would mega to win the game.
There was also an openly acknowledged acceptance that all and any players might conspire with one another against 3rd parties. Object of the exercise? last corp standing - ally with whomever, kill everyone in sight, then fight it out. That said, to have a rule against it is ludicrous. How can it be policed? Ain’t no way. This means that those who abide by the rule are at a disadvantage. Real smart, yeh? Couple examples: No information exchange. Hell, no need to blow up a nearby port or post an announcement – how about ICQ, email, phone, or in extremis, smoke signals? No asset transfers. Ah Jeese. More ways to do this than I can shake a stick at. None of them provably megacorping .
Pay a toll fig. Asset transfer.

And isn't that the foundation upon which HHT was built? We've long lost the intent of BOTE, that was "born" in the day of local dialup teams coming to battle it out in one large telnet game. Now BOTE is Battle of the Perma Corp. The EIS invitational may, if it comes together for each of the servers to send a team representing them, may resemble the BOTE in so much that the best teams who call each of these servers their "home server" may have the opportunity to play against those who they might otherwise get the opportunity to play against. It's a long shot, since many play multiple servers, but for those who normally play just one server may be interested. Then again, those who stick to one server may not want to play a blood bath tournament.

All of Ground Zero's corp and half of the Flying Aces play regularly at UTW, so guess who the other corps would be playing against if it was ran that way? It would still be a blood bath, just a much shorter one.

We have at least 5 organized teams who may enjoy some tournament play.

Nothing set in stone of course but it would be nice to get all the active corps together to play on a game. hopefully some of the b.s. would be thrown out the door and v2 would be the choice to host. or at least a stable v1 server.

Re: Due to lack of interest...
I'll practice on v2, but I won't play in a tournament held on v2. However if JP decided to upgrade v1.03 and just fix the bugs and add a few things that have been tested, then I might consider it. I'm pretty sure the odds of that happening are about as high as v2 every getting repaired and debugged.

Just so no one thinks these posts are going to go unseen. It's unfortunate that I have to go through and lock three different threads. Please offending parties, GROW UP!
