Like the title says...

I figured i'd check into the tradewars scene again and see if anyone i used to play with are actively playing still (or again for that matter).

I used to play as Night Hawk and often played with prestone, reverend, bud, little wolf, hellcat, rolodex, hekate, fuseblown, zep, guardian, bad girl and others... these are just a few who i can think of off the top of my head.

Anyways, any of these people read these forums or know if they still play?

i'd say i last played probably around 7-8 years ago. I was heavily into the game around 99-02 playing in the majors with some of the people i mentioned above.

Cruncher, i did play at fament, but most on home sector. Also played on alien base, froggies (i think it was called), and some others.

So whats the status of the game today? are there many active servers? It would be nice to get into a turn game with decent activity.

JP is just about to release a new beta. There's a Time Limit bug we want to fix so that we can have decent turn games.

Right now I'm playing on Ice-9. Very good sysop, very nice games. I started back in January in the noob building game I. (fused 3 ISS's my first week)

He has regulated games there for noob builders who want that type of game. He also has some unregulated games, kill everything that moves! 1250 turns in game W but unlimited time so beware AFK photon scripts are in play there.

Scripting is deadly fast, so expect to see the inside of a few pods as you get warmed up! LOL

haha, yea i remember when i stopped playing the game was being won while people are pdropping while afk and/or being controlled by another playing by means of chat commands. lol


i started in stock game that banged at ultimatetw couple days ago, but no one is playing it but me... i'll check out ice9 when i get home from work.

Sup Night Hawk. Still a few of us old folks around although I'm currently not playing much. Yah, lot of the good servers went down because of lack of players, I think I played with you the most on Alien Base and RR took that one down a couple years ago. ICE9 is a good server, good luck getting started again and at relearning the game. Above all don't get discouraged, it's not fun losing, but when your time comes to win it makes it all worth it.

Game I is probably going to reset soon. This cracked me up when I first saw it, but this is how you play this one. Sectors 11 - 2000 are "Fed protected sectors", all ports are maxed. This area is known as the play-pen. Noob friendly ppt'ing, fed space is next to SD. You cannot deploy figs or mines in these sectors, the feds clean them.

Outside of that, sectors 2001 - 20,000 is hostile with one huge exception.. NO P-Dropping.. pay the tolls, scan, cuz there's a lot of huge bases in that game. It's been running since November I think. So, to survive the hostile area, scan and pay tolls, and you'll be fine. If you kill even one single toll fig they WILL KILL you, but you have a 30 day grace period.

There are however quite active players there, friendly chit-chat on fed com - setting naturally favor blue and they have some awesome ship edits - I call it the Cadillac of Colts - 250 holds w/twarp.
