I sympathize with you Vulcan. I know exactly what you are going through, and where you will be heading down next.

I did not ask to be withdrawn due to any drama here. I don't pay attention to the drama. I asked to be removed because I do not host my site, or put the work into both Outpost-4 TradeWars or TradeWars Academy to be recognized for any award. I do it to help players, SysOps, and to give something to the Community. If people don't like my site, that's their choice. I'm in this for the players, not for a pat on my back or a "great job" award. I will continue to run Outpost-4 TradeWars/TradeWars Academy for a long time, and an award or recognition will not change that focus. I'm not saying anything negative about the awards. For us here, it's not the award, but the chance to help someone and that can't be beat with any award.

I don't see what's wrong with a pat on the back then. Being nominate is like everyone sayin hey good job. Winning the vote in that catagoir is like everyone sayin hey great job.

Asking to be removed is almost like a slap in the face for the people that would have nominated you IMO, plus it seems like basid on you statment you get that the awards are a form of reconition for doing a good job. not just the popularity contsest some seem to veiw it as.

So removed or not good job with what you have done and are doing!!!

Thrawn, that is the same reason I run my server, I don't care about the awards for anything I do, but they are for the community to show the recognition of the work you do and others like us. I personally don't care if I win any awards, but let my noms go as they are, mainly because I think the community needs it more than me. I personally don't care about any popularity contests, but let the players and others show the recognition of work done, cause they feel it is needed to be let known. I also do respect your reasons for not wanting the participation, and you are right on that, it is about the love of the game and the community, you and others like us have done a lot for the community, and do it out of love for the game. Thank you for the time that you put into the game and hosting for the players. You do a great service to us all. I am personally glad that you are here to help the community live on.

My apologies to you or anyone that may feel the same. I just did not mean to insult anyone that would have nominated our site. I just stated that I am not interested in being in the "awards"; that I do this for the players. We know from the e-mails we've received how well the site functions, or how helpful it is and will continue to be.

So to those that may have nominated us, I apologize, but wish no part of this. It's not the awards that bother me. It has nothing to do with Zentock, in case someone "thinks" it is. I have no issues with Zentock or anyone. There are other issues and reasons outside of the awards that have made us feel this way.

Regards

20 mins till noms close

My reply was to zentock requesting that he be notified in this thread by those who wanted their names removed. I had said in another thread that I asked vulcan to remove my name because I felt that others deserved the award more than me. I also said that I had decided to let my name remain. The reason for leaving it, was that there were not two nominations for me.

Since it was vulcan who posted the rules, I had no idea that zentock had written them and so with a smiley face I reminded him of the rule.

Big D is trying to tell him nicely something he's never going to hear. My response is moving to smack, a forum I once avoided.

I volunteer to have my name substituted for any player, any category, if the player nominated declines nomination.
