A land and grab macro would be pretty hard to beat, as it is now most reloaders spend a lag cycle on the planet. Still if you're landing too often it won't matter as a burst loop will get you there.
That's why a properly ored and set cannon is a critical part of that defense.

I think we had 52k ore, so a properly set cannon was pretty much out of the question. I'm not sure we had enough to move the planet very far after it blasted whoever came in 1st. lol
