Since your alignment change is a function of the number of figs you lose and the opponents alignment, another tactic is to hit them with small waves of only a few figs at a time from a ship with high attack odds. If the other player's alignment isn't too high you can find a wave size that doesn't affect your alignment at all and macro the heck out of 'em. This is really annoying since they have to go though pages of messages of you doing damage to them.

After reading nearly 5 pages of posts from several people regarding one generalized question that was asked I have come to a few conclusions that have made me realize not much has truly changed in the nearly two years since I have played TW.

The original question posed was a generalized one that was meant to spark a discussion and was probably not intended to get an exact answer as there are several different ways to approach it and each person has thier own ideas and tactics that work for them. Also it is great to see that everyone does have an opinion, however if y'all spent as much time and energy promoting tradewars and actually teaching new players as you do trying to pick apart each others posts and argueing with each other, then the game would not be as "dead" as everyone seems to think. Granted you all may be trying to give a new moderator a trial by fire but come on the original question was not a fair one to any moderator regardless of how skilled or knowledgeable one may be as there was no simple answer and to provide as detailed of an answer as some of you might want or expect would require nothing short of a novel to accomplish. When was the last time any of you could actually give a short answer to any question concerning TW. The game has so many variables involved that the number of strategies are nearly limitless at times so although there may be a few apparently "wrong" answers there are many correct answers depending upon the specific type of situation encountered. Spend more time showing different ways of getting the same result and less time trying to show how the last person was wrong.

One will never succed where others have failed by following the same rules.

Okay this is easy, just refer to http://www.tw-cabal.com/strategy/invadingbases.html Traitor himself has posted the address, and is the short answer, but also is a long answer, when you read the whole subject there. But will give you fair enough info to figure it out. I recommend all new players and players that have been away a while to visit it and brush up on things, me included, It has been many years since I played, and made the worse noob mistake on one game, ask Graz, he watched me go up in a ball of flames trying to get to SD so he could help, I was on his corp, and I should have known how to run the script I had and well....

But for questions like the original one asked here and most others I would visit Traitors site.
