When i was i did not have a gaming console or a computer , yet i was shoplifting and cussing at my teacher.I saw the inside of the detention room more then the inside of books.It was my parents that where directly responsible , not my exposure to t.v..There is far more horrifing things you cans see , besides whats on t.v. , in my case all i had to do is look at my parents abusive and disfunctional relationship.They way i see it folks are always avioding the real subject at hand ,always blaming someone or something else besides themselves.There was murder and rape before there was even t.v. , the first murder was in the begining of the bible.I am sure that Cain didn't have an xbox to play with.The way i see at lets get real and blame ourselves and for the sake of our kids , accept responsability and learn to be an example and listen to what your kids are saying.

Hey! I believe in whippin my kids Butt when apropriate(sp?). Most of the time I take away something they like (computer, playstation, TV, outside playing,privileges). But there is times when a good arse whooping works wonders. And yes, believe it or not the courts will not mind if the asswhipping is in reason. To punch your kid in the face is a different thing. Yeah I had 3 boys and a girl I raised alone. They all came out fine even with getting there asses whipped. They are now grown and having kids of thier own. They played violent video games such as doom, doom II, and lots of others. They would play as they were the guy in doom and attack stuff, make guns outta sticks and the BFG from a plactic bottle. Oh yeah they got into fights, come on, they're boys growing up, not from watching movies and playing video games. I see it as a lot of times the parents aren't there for thier kids and the kids run wild and are not corrected when doing wrong.
I have made mistakes with my kids no doubt. I am not perfect. But I was there for them no matter what.
I now have 2 little girls 1 and 8 years old. Will I whoop there butts? If need be. I will try other punishments first. I will always be there for them no matter what. That is the difference in my eyes.

Heh, I have always been kinda partial to "I brought you into this world and I can take you out!" Although sadly this is now considered a "Terroristic Threat" and can result in a parent being jailed, left to be ravished in public humiliation, and suffer the loss of child custody by the intervening CPS authorities... But you do have to admit it still holds a nice ring to it! [:P]
