i would agree with psion, i think, especially nowadays, most of the "best" players in a game, will play blue rather than red.
namely because i don't think there are that many "elites" left. so if you have 4 newbs and an elite on your team... do you want the elite to be only online for an hour a day till mobile? nope, you want that guy on as much as possible, ie: blue.
Slim, an Elite doesn't care what color they happen to be at the moment. They are just as dangerous red or blue. They will be on-line when it benefits the team...which just happens to be anytime they are logged in. Frankly, I'd welcome a red elite, beacuse 1), I know it's rock solid income, 2), I know that they aren't going to do anything stupid, and 3) they are an added threat in addition to my existing blues.
notice i did not say what an elite "prefers" to be, i said most of the time they will be blue for the benifit of the whole.
quote:The hunters will be whatever color they end up as from their last kill. heh. They will always tend towards blue, but the best hunters really don't care.
yes, i believe i said...

the hunters will almost always be blue.
*almost always*
yes, i can kill you and go red, but guess what, at some point, i am going to want to get to blue again.
the only reason anyone should *stay* blue is because they are the designated MR *****.
i apologize for not spelling it out traitor
(i don't need to mention that you are only a MR ***** after u are mobile right? i can assume people realize that is not part of ppt?)

Finding a backdoor is easy in twx provided you have a good
ztm (which we did finally have). Just type this:
$d-
In that order. $, d, -. Then type in the sector number you
want to find backdoors for. Eg, stardock, Rylos, whatever.
It'll pull up a "mock holoscan" of what it last saw there,
or just the sector number and warps-in if you haven't been
there. To get out of twx just hit $ again, it'll take you
back to the game.
For things that really matter, such as base locations, it's best to do a manual check anyway, just in case there was some sort of hole in your ztm.

And yes, I'd rather kill one enemy red than 2 enemy blues. Unless you kill all their blues, they can still cash, and that's bad.
Assuming a corp is well run, blue turns should be worth just as much as red turns. If the blues turns aren't as necessary as the red turns, then the person should be playing red. The same goes the other way, too. If the red turns aren't as important as the blue turns, they should be playing blue. If your corp is structured correctly, every turn is worth the same amount.

It depends on the edits. Some edits it truly doesn't matter if you're red or blue at any given point. Some edits it does.

Why whould you want your designated MR ***** to be blue? Doesn't that make it kind of hard to MR?

Akor...would you please do a lot of us a favor and use a higher contrast color for your messages instead of dark green against black? With small size fonts is almost impossible to read what you have to say so most of the time I miss your thoughts. LARGE fonts work ok...but to be honest I have no clue what you are saying except through inferences reading other posts replying to you. Thanks!
Father Cajone, I'm trying for the TW m.a.i.l message effect. I don't see why you might be able to read the daily messages in TW and not be able to read my posts here, but untill further notice, I'll be posting with no color in my messages just as everyone else ie. BUT.......I'll still have,

Thanks Akor...was able to read messages (as Slim pointed out) highlighting them as in the copy process but was annoying having to 'jump through hoops'. Now you got my curiosity going? Is there an advantage in games to having different color settings or just what you like for the esthetic effect? Thanks... hehehe.... 'Curiosity killed the cat' and now am looking for the 'satisfaction'! [:D]

Cool. A kindred spirit. I have a lot of curiosity too. To satisfy yours, I noticed that the background color of the whole EIS site was black. The reason is, of course, because TW is played on a black background. So I wanted to make my messages read as if viewed in the game. I saw the logon messages from your figs that get hit and copied the colors they used. Mostly they used green, then blue for the names of ship and purple and yellow for other things. But if people are having trouble reading it, I'll be switching to the supspace and Fed grey color font.....maybe. Actually it is a lot of extra work involved with writing messages this way so I just might post as most posters do.

I find when people use properly embedded quote tags, it's a lot easier to read their posts. No offense Akor, but your "game style" messages drive me batty

What do you expect from a dude that has a red headed girl to represent him as his avatar? Haven't you noticed that Vader is a bit strange?[/green]
What, you not like girls?????
