I did this to Stockton and his corp in Dupe Chess, basically I landed one of my Dupes on his planet, and sat at the attack shield prompt, I knew that I wouldnt be able to take the planet, and I knew if I blasted off, I was dead, so I traced them planet, came in with a different corpie, and all hell broke lose, in the end I captured the planet, and thus basically eliminated a great team.
I dont think its a bug, and I dont think it should be changed. HOWEVER if you are asking how to rid yourself of a hitchhiker like this, drain the planet, blow the planet, and laugh at the results.

When this senerio occurs and you are in the citadel of your planet and the other player claims your planet, can you still move it around and such; since the planet is no longer yours, will the citadel commands still work for you? And if you move from the citadel or get tossed out by the new owner, will you then get beamed by the cannon, assuming it is still set to deliver a blast.

Oh another question, why do yo have to remove the shields? Assuming there are more then 200 would they not go off anyways or is this a bug or something? Sorry just doesnt make much sence to me... Also if you move to a new sector should not the movement retrigger an attack upon the invader, if not that might be a new strategy to consider implementing within the game, get an invation and then warp them to a new sector to get your fighter prompt and cannon to reset for a new attack while the invader is left venerable. Also there should be a message to indicate that you have a hitchiker in the atmosphere, otherwise you will think you planet and sector is secure when it is actually in danger, (the invader is alerted of the new sector number too right? This would allow them to alert their corpies to move the attack over.)

yes

no

Removing the shields will give the same reaction as if the invader destroyed them, resulting in a cannon blast/military reaction. However, this will only work if the player hit's a key that updates their current prompt.

Side note:
It would be smart to ask a corpie to put a personal limp on you if you plan to do this. This way, your corp can follow your movements and pounce on the opposing corp as soon as they move you and when they are not prepared for an all out attack.
