so does anyone know of A) an ansi editor that I can upload a .jpeg to and it turn it into Ansi...Or... B) a program such as photoshop that will do this?

Thanks I've got it figured out

ASCII and ANSI are not the same though. There are some programs that will supposedly do what your asking, but every time I have tried them it didn't work. Naturally they are very old programs. One I can think right now of is Gif2Ansi or something like that.

When I have gotten such a program to work...in the distant past. I noted that a very small gif may become a much larger ansi. Such as your avatar might come out to half the size of your screen in ansi.

I use AnsiPic 1.0 for editing ansi pics. It's an ancient DOS program, and you have to modify your config.nt (or config.sys) file to include the ANSI device driver:
DEVICE=%SystemRoot%\system32\ansi.sys
In order to get it to work. It's kind of a pain, but I find it way easier to use than any of the other ANSI programs like AcidDraw or TheDraw. It's really easy to make your ANSI pictures animated with it too. AnsiPic has full mouse support too.

With it I've been able to do some neat things...
