Long long ago on a BBS far far away (so far the Long distance during the day was a killer)
There was RIP grapics on trade wars and it was a GUI
Then came the internet and killed BBS's for a long while Tradewars went to being something that was spread word of mouth by old toads to the newly found Fledgling internet children. Talked about in Hushed circles this Once Famous game now has become the Domain of Script weilders and Us old toads who could not forget the Golden days.
What has Bugged me for a long while is what ever happened to the fronend programs that were not script helpers but a GUI for the user. Makeing the most common commnads a click of a mouse and translated the classic asni art int RIG graphics.
Where can I find one of these modern mircial programs and if there currently is not one looking at swath and attac I can see where it would be possible to redesign a program simular in vein but it just being a GUI and not a helper. (yes some of us old toads prefer to do it the old fashion way no scripts, heck right now I am using attac with all the auto niceity funcions off to have the stat display on the side of the game screen I would so prefer it in what would look like controls from a spaceship ***pit.)

Well, if you really want a better interface to tradewars, I'd suggest taking an open source helper (J-TWAT http://sf.net/projects/j-twat or Kokua http://www.twdata.org/kokua ) and putting a new interface on it. Kokua (disclaimer - Author) in particular lets you redesign the interface simply be editting a text file in a format similiar to HTML. It would certainly be possible to move everything around and probably even add graphics to simulate the interface you are wanting.

Heh, remember the "TwTerm" from Will Boyett? it made it look as though you were looking at the galaxy through the ***pit of your spaceship.

Did you find the front end you sought? And if so, which is it?
