"i'm not gonna stand here and try to excuse for any reason his behavior - it was one of the dumbest moves i've ever seen." -- didaskalos

"Well to me that is a very lame excuse." -- RiverRat

"given the context of the game (this might bore you, so feel free to stop reading)...and that's my speculation for the evening" - didaskalos

so RR - what you're basically saying is, the only thing you want to see posted regarding this situation is what a horrible person oz is, how he should be banned, and lots of whining and crying. you're basically saying, 'if you don't want to ***** about oz, don't say anything.' i understand that you're disappointed. i understand that hoot owl is disappointed. i don't see how people that are 'TW-vets' can keep saying that I am justifying his behavior. I am simply stating (over and over because people haven't comprehended it yet) that it is abnormal behavior and that oz is not a horrible person worthy of state prosecution. the action is indefensible, the person is not.

The intentional use of a bug DOES reflect on his overall character. I don't know him at all, but would not want to play in a game with OZ. Also, anyone who lost to him in the past will now wonder if he used a bug they don't know about.

It might help a little if he would comment. But overall I can't see anyone trusting him in a game for awhile. Once trust is broken it is very hard to earn back.

Well don't take me wrong but I am a very forgiving person and do know people make stupid mistakes. I think most of us have been there. I think it would be nice to have an apology or something. I have recieved an apology from the second person involed.

I have to admit, I was tempted to use the same bug, right at your system RR! I guess I just wanted to see it work with my own eyes, and I was in an "evil" mood. When I suggested it to someone, they were apalled (rightly so) and reminded me that I would definately be banned for it. At the time I thought of it, it seemed like such a harmless thing, because it was an unlimited turn game and the "victim" would have their turns back in a few minutes.

That's the problem with bugs, and why JP, Harley, Gypsy, and the rest are so concerned about them, and rush to fix them as soon as possible. They are a GREAT temptation.

If I heard a simple "I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking," from the offender that would be good enough for me, and I believe, therein lies your point, and I agree with you whole heartedly.

As far as bug use in general, I also agree to an extent that it reflects on character, but it depends on whether a person uses those bugs consistently.

I'm willing to forgive an occassional slip up, a succombing to the "dark side," and I will still respect the player afterward, but it has to come with an heart felt apology and a promise to never be that stupid again.

That's all I have to say about that.

You are correct Overlord...compost occurs in the heat of combat or planting summer gardens. Hog made a mistake and so did I when I reacted in a manner that made him an outcast in too many eyes. He IS a good player and my feeling is that he has learned from his error. There are many games in the future and we should just go on to the next ones. He might owe a few players apologies but I posted the screen caps and started more than I intended so I just letting go. Vader did the best job of handling a gnarly problem I have seen and did it after contacting almost all of the players in that game he was able to and lets just go in and support his new games. My apologies to anyone I have offended by my remarks.
