Gold aliens. As a player I think they are neat! As a sysop I dislike them.

As Player: I like to have them attack and defend thier sectors. I like them for building up planets. I like them for (bug)Filling up planets in thier sectors. I like them for the exp and alignment. I like them for they don't chat smack (yet). I like them for unique settings.
I don't like them for spam messages about them hitting my figs.

As Sysop I dislike them for for spaming players with messages and making the TWMAIL.DAT file corrupt. I dislike them for filling planets and giving some players an edge. I dislike them cause sometimes they don't act like they are set up to. I dislike them as they are slow to upgrade planets they own if they do it at all. I dislike them as they do not colonize.
I like them for game interest. I like them for thier ability to be fully configured.

So in my Games if I have gold aliens at all, They will be few in each race no more then 10. In Games with gold aliens there will be no gridding.(dropping figs all over the place).

I like the old ferrengi and how they act. How they threaten you to surrender your holds. It would be cool if the internal ferrengi would build up thier planet but they don't.
Alien Traders are just fodder.
