Hey everyone, I'm in need of some advice from the vets on the following situation: I'm playing Red in a solo game. The other night I ran my turns and then flew my CFS to SD in order to cloak out. I had 0 turns left and only 1 cloak. After logging out, I switched over SWATH to another server but forgot to change the server in TWPROXY. So after a double-click there I was, back in my solo game at Stardock with 0 turns, 0 cloaks, tons of cash onboard and 55 minutes until the top of the hour and a turn refresh. I decided to wait online for 55 minutes until my turns refreshed, but had to cook up a strategy in case someone warped to SD and saw me sitting there nice and defenceless - one other player was online at the time and I knew for a fact he was in an ISS with around 30,000 fighters. So I caused Captain Zyrain to warp into the sector (by attacking a sub-1000 exp blue who was at SD) and macro'ed 'ay999^M'. If someone came along that I knew could take me, then I would attack Zyrain, get podded, and thus deny my onboard credits and ship to another player. There's also a considerable bounty on my head so I didn't want another player to collect that either (or did I read somewhere that the bounty only goes to the person who destroys the escape pod?). I know that I should've had more Cloaks and should've paid more attention to what TWX was loading. But given the situation, was the Zyrain attack the best possible plan if someone entered the Stardock sector? I initially though of CBY but wouldn't that mean I couldn't log on til the next day and that I would lose huge chunks of my align/exp? Was there a better plan that I could've used? Not that I plan on being in that situation again Thanks PS In the end no one ever came to Stardock, and I was able to cloak out at the top of the hour. Phew |

Actually that would have been a much better plan, since Zyrain occasionally warps out of the sector and you have to bring him back in. Plus, luring in Zyrain means a 'Ryu Khan attacked someone in the Federation!' posting in the Daily Log. That guy in the 30,000 fitr ISS might have wondered what I was doing at SD if he had checked the log . . . What about deploying fighters/mines in fedspace? Does Zyrain pod you for that or just give you a warning? |

zyrain takes a percentage of your holds and figs for trying to deploy mines/figs. |

If you got yourself podded by Zyrain, there's a good chance your pod would have stayed at dock, and your enemy could have gotten your credits and the bounty anyway. If you had a gtorp, you could have tried to hide on a planet. If you had several gtorps and several dets, you could have tried to lure an enemy into landing after you, and possibly ZDY them on the surface. |

I am with CK on this alot of times players don't even pay attention to planets at sd and if they were to land on it while you were on it you could zdy it, if they didn't zdy it first..lol p.s. I think that if Zyrain is out of Fed space i think he should be able to be blasted too, and hold grudges like the aliens do Suddenly you hear a faint metallic click on the side of your hull... |

it is my understanding that being on the planet prompt, you don't see when someone lands on a planet...? |

You would do things like macro land/lift a few times and be ready to land-zdy if the enemy landed. Alternately, you could just try to get the timing right. Land, wait 2 seconds, zdy. |
