Gold Aliens do it all the time, if you corner them they seem to stay....but if your attacking they will twarp out. I always just figured it was one of them settings in the behavior that I didn't know what it did

Well was hunting down this Ferrengi DN that had been destroying my Grid .. Got him corned in a 1 way warp with 10K fighters and 125 mines holding the door closed behind me.. Got him down to 10 fighters and launched my last wave... only to be given there is no ship message.. ?? he did not go through my fighters... or mines.. did not destroy his ship .. he just jumped out of sector.... So when did Ferrengi DN get Twarp? Sigh wanted a F DN for my ship collection ..... lol .. This was annoying as I had already used 10K fighters teaching him that a full ISS should not be harassed and ordered to heave too. ... Thanks. |

Can you tell me if it was a standard Ferrengi or a Gold Ferrengi? I'm not aware of any way either would have jumped away "by design", but could be a bug. |

To tell if an alien race is gold or not , first check if its a gold edit in V screen. But some edits can have both ..so also check if the server is running internal aliens from the T-menu "*" option. If the game is gold and internals is on .. then its a guess which one it was. Now , as for aliens twarping away .. yes its been that way for awhile. I'm not sure for how long tho because I don't play many games with aliens in them as much as in my hunting days. Toyman .. there is not T-edit setting for such behavour .. those are internal to the tw2002 and NONPSERV process. hope this helps. |

I'll investigate this. If I find it's a bug, would a fix be too much of a change? Or would it be generally considered a good thing? BTW, you can tell the difference between an internal Ferrengi and a Gold Ferrengi by how it's shown in the sector display. The internal Ferrengi have their own line, as do internal Alien Traders. Then below that, you'd see any Gold alien races in the sector. |

If only one alien is in sector .. how would that tell you ? or are you meaning type # to see in that display ? And if that is the case .. what if the Sysop turns 'show whos online - OFF' then you get no display .. or only your corp (maybe aliens too ?) (edit out .. you do see aliens and only your corpies) Sorry if this sounds dumb but its been awhile for me being in a game with aliens to check this with these conditions set. |
