Hi all, sorry if this is a stupid question but there's a guy in a game I'm playing who managed to drop his exp from over 1k down to 700 overnight. What puzzles me is how he did it. He's playing blue and is solo, no corp. Nothing at all shows up in the logs. I thought I knew most of the tricks but this one has me stumped. Any help? Thanks, RJ |

Bank your cash, get to dock and try to break into the underground. Do it enough to get knocked unconscious but stop then (before they kill you). It'll reduce your exp. You can also "pod down" by filling a ship with corbo, making it personal and attacking it. The corbs will pod you and cost experience, of course you need a backup ship ready to xport to afterwards. =) |

If he was blue he couldn't have gone to the underground. and if there was nothing in the logs he didn't self pod. tell us what % of his exp he lost, and we can prolly figure it out. or do the research yourself: http://www.tw-cabal.com |

I can't give you the exact % of experience lost because while I noticed that the player had gone over 1000 exp Saturday night, I wasn't expecting this so I didn't pay much attention to how far over he was. I believe he was around 1100-1200 the last I saw Saturday night. Sunday afternoon his exp was 732. The only thing I can think of is, he was self podding and the log just screwed up and didn't capture it. But if there is some other method I'd sure be interested in learning it Thanks, RJ |

The game's only a few days old and I've gone through the entire log. No, he's not commissioned. Today his align is only 259. Someone told me this morning that a blue trying to break into the underground using the wrong password will get mugged after 4 tries and lose 50% of his exp without it showing in the log (which agrees with what Singularity posted above). If that's the case, that must be what he used. Thanks, RJ |

You can still go to the underground and loose experience if your aliment is under 200. So if his aliment was under 200 he went to the underground and entered the wrong password. |

Thanks, RJ A blue can lose 4/9 of their exp points per day solo, as follows: 1.Buy a Merchant Freighter (or whatever is the cheapest ship that has a pod if the game is non stock/standard). 2. Put 10 figs on the merf. 3. Buy a Scout Marauder, put 3 corbomite units on it, make it personal if you are on a corp. 4. Tow them both somewhere out of fed. *** 5. X to the merf. Attack your personal Scout. You will end up in an escape pod, and will have lost 1/3 of your experience points. *** You get 2 pods/day, hence can shed 4/9 'ths exp per day. Yhere are safer ways to do this, you can direct where the 'pod will end up even, but I dont want to complicate things. |

Self-podding shows on the logs. And yea, the underground trick works nicely. |

The experience cut off for the underground is 200. 199 you can go there (and be mugged), 200 you can't. |

I'm pretty sure he was under 200 and that's what he used. Like I said, I wasn't paying close attention to his stats until I saw him drop back under 1k and couldn't figure out how. Nice to know, thanks for all the tips. RJ |

Can't he like kill off some colonists to lower his alignment which will allow him to go to the underground and get knocked out for 4 bad passwords? Or maybe attack figs owned by a blue to lower alignment a bit? Isn't there a way to lose exp by attacking ports and getting podded in a Merf or something? Or maybe ticking off one of the Feds by atacking them, or trying to attack Earth on sector 1 which forces that er ak Kent guy to smash up your ship and you lose experience? I love the last one, the camera tilts, your crew is bashed around like brainless sheep, and a Mr. Kent of Earth says that you should stay the heck away from Earth. I think it is "L" for land, and then "A" for attack, unless the programmers took that option out by now? I haven't done it in a long time, but when I did, it was quite funny. Just hope that DC's lawyers don't ever see it. |
