k i use zoc/twx and rev's scripts for a few thing like cimmin...well a corp mate of mine with the same setup, did a cim (for some reason he had his sub-space on channel 0) and got this back in responce

Message sent on sub-space channel 0.
Anubis You know, someone was almost banned for running that same script.
Anubis Idiot.. LoL..
Johana looks like a script to me
Anubis I know it well.. I also know how to get it to tell me what sector the user is in..
Anubis Doesn't help me when he's at Stardock though.
Johana hahaha
Anubis Hiding at the dock, feeling mighty with his 50k fighters.. Pathetic..
`what a cim???
Anubis If he'd come out in the open, I'd face him.. Can't attack him hiding there though.
Anubis No matter.
Johana Continuing my search now of intelligent life forms.
Anubis And yes. It slows down the board and he was instructed to stop..
Anubis As far as I know, you haven't received such a warning, so go for it. =P
Anubis Ken doesn't just ban without warning, so it should be safe.. Besides, he was using it 24/7 heh, which was bogging down the server.
Anubis Using it just when online shouldn't hurt anything.
Anubis Still though, it's pathetic that you guys keep using scripts, scripts, and more scripts and gain no power heh.
Anubis Obviously you don't know much about the programming RoFL.. Anyway..
Anubis RoFL.. You have no idea who I am, after all..
Anubis let me put it this way. I have the source code. That's all I'll say.
Anubis At any rate, I'm low on turns, so out of here. 2 more boards to visit.

question is...does this guy know what he is talking about getting that same script to tell him where the person using it is??

Not really sure what you are asking here. Maybe you are confusing CIM and ZTM. CIM would never be barred. It makes no sense and doesnt use the CPU for any prolonged amount of time. ZTM on the other hand, can run for hours and hours and cranks the CPU. Sysops might request users not to ZTM since it maxes their CPU if it is low capacity box.
CIM = Computer Interrogation Mode. Tells you all the sectors you have been to and gives updated port values everywhere there is not an enemy fighter
ZTM = Zero Turn Mapping. You just sit at SD and ask the computer for the warp path for thousands of sectors and your helper manages that information to give a pretty good view of the universe.
earth.

Dunno... another take, maybe he got it confused with a CIM hunter script. Running constant CIM loops and comparing the results, announcing them on SS to allow corpies to track and hunt blocked ports. Something like that, if ran constantly, could put a hex on a slow server I guess. Can a CIM script betray it's owner? Dunno. What script you running? If it broadcasts sectors or ports on SS then yea, sure... if you only have afew hundred sectors explored or something. Take said list, probe it and grid thru with limpets. If it announces only blocked ports then it won't betray the owner, but it would certaintly give away your kills.

Dunno. Lots of BS flying around, that's for sure. This guy claiming to be JP or somethin. LOL. CIM works fine, that's been proven a long time now.

Here is how to do it. you have 1 player run CIM constantly and difference all the blocked ports against ports that are no longer blocked. Those sectors represent players that have moved through them. Broadcast those sectors. teammates then reset those destroyed figs. You can use that data like a trail of breadcrumbs :) to track people. Granted, the data is 5-10 minutes old, but if the person being tracked goes to the bathroom.... heh.
earth.

Depends on the size of the uni and your explored sectors. This really doesn't work well later on in the game during an established grid and established trade routes, but it works well during the beginning of the game when your CIM is still small. Got a plt script that does similar, sends updates to the blocked list on SS every few minutes. Works pretty well to catch people doing a PPT since they'll pause for afew seconds. The trick is getting an early probe in...

ok, ur talking Zoc and twx combo... the cim in Rev helper for zoc... No that guy is full of BS about finding u with it...The script just runs ur ftrs and sectors u've seen, no sector numbers are announced on SS radio, the script doesn't accept input from a radio so he can't get it to tell him anything, except what it says on its own over Sub space....
but as another point, kinda wondering why that guy (who claims to be so good )was on Sub space channel 0 to begin with, its one of the first things I change when I join a game.
