I just attacked a port (another player was on it) and received the follwing:
For attacking this port your alignment went down by 5 point(s).
You destroyed the Star Port!
XXXXX was at the port and got blown up! (XXXXX to protect the podded)
An Escape Pod warps out of this sector!
You lost 1175 fighter(s)
For destroying this StarPort you receive 1279 experience point(s).
and your alignment went up by 130 point(s).
My question is why would the alignment go down by 5 points for attacking a port, but go up 130 for actually destroying it? My alignment was +15k when I attacked it. The player that was on it was a red.

It didnt go up because you killed the port, it went down. What it went up for is killing the red that was on it when you killed it. Just the way it says it is confusing.

Ok, that makes sense - more than the text display did. I thought that the experience (1279) gained was high for just destroying the port as the text also appears to indicate, but it is also probably including the experience I got from podding the player that was on the port. Thanks for the reply.
