Hey Cats and Kittens, just lookin for a little help here. I used to play TW2002 back in the old BBS days and it's now somewhat different than what I'm used to. I was just wonderin if there was a place to see what changes have been made. For one thing, and maybe this is just something the sysop on the games I've visted sets Idon't know, I've found you don't lose alignment for jettisoning colonists anymore. That REALLY sucks. Also I've shot a ptorp into a system with a shielded planet and it dampened the qcannon on that planet, I mean what's the point of shielding a planet if it's not going to prevent the ptorp from screwing with my qcannon? Is this just something the sysop set or is this the way it is in the gold version of TW now? |

Not sure where the best place to look for all the changes... but I can respond to the 2 comments you made. For jettisoning colos.. you must be good aligned I believe (1 align and higher). You can only do it once per day. You get as many negative alignment points equal to the number of colos you jettisoned. As for torping a shielded planet.. The planet must have at least 200 (might be 201) planetary shields to stop a photon. The planet you photoned was at least an L5, but apparently the owner didn't bother to stock it with shields. You should download TWGS and see some of the options a sysop can change. Doesn't cost anything to download. |

TWGold allows custom edits of ships, planets, and aliens. It allows the GameOp or editor to change the game a bit. For example instead of blue having the best ship, the game could be more even with reds and blue having similar ships. Like an Evil Starship for the reds that is almost the same as an ISS. I could be wrong, but the sector level q-cannons are damphened by a ptorp, but not the atmospheric q-cannon on a shielded planet with 200 or more shields on it. Can someone else verify that? |

na, you'll get blasted by sector cannons if the planet's shielded.. uh, not that I'd have any experience with that or anything...heh |

There are actually options to set the game to MBBS mode or to non-MBBS mode. This will change the way q-cannons do damage, doesnt change the rules for firing them tho. Also adds mega rob capability in MBBS mode. Not sure of the other changes but the best place to find out is http://www.tw-cabal.com/ |

Thanks, most planets I have invaded were not even Lvl 5 yet. So I don't have much experience with that. It is good to hit them early before the shields go up, and usually get them at lvl 4 to move them some other place so the ex-owner is less likely to take them back. |
