Ok I am trying to make graphics, what I am trying to figure out is how many pixels are in 1 inch so I can determine what size my graphic actually is.

I'de like to help on that , but to determing this we need to know what resalution your dealing with.

The larger the area the larger and more pixals will be needed to fill same area.
Maybe more detail is needed , what software and res as I said earlyer.

I dont mean to sound like an arse ..but any answer would be incorect
without knowing the settings .

Is this for ansi graphics? If so, just set your screen size to the original size of a traditional DOS window. You will have 80 lines vertically, but I don't remember what you will have horizontally.

80 by 25 for 16 color CGA ANSI screens.

I got a feeling that this is for some Tradewars website, am I right?

Most novice users have their screens set at 640x480 because they don't know how to change that. The more advanced users will use 800x600 or 1024x768 and a graphic written for 640x480 will seem sort of small to them.

On average figure a 800x600 screen, most websites are set for that resolution.
