Good morning. I am a returning player of Trade wars and want to now run it on my computer. I would also like to serve it out but need to know a few things...
1. Do I need to set up a BBS? or can I run it from my webserver?
2. How/Where do I register?
3. I have rev .55, is that the newest one and the one I should be using?
4. Any thing I did not think of?
Thanks for your help! I look forward to getting involved again!

Here are our replies to your questions:

1. No you can run the TWGS separate. You don't need a BBS. Clients can elnet in directly.

2. Order from http://www.eisonline.com/order/default.htm.

3. Not too sure ofthe version. We are on v1.01.54 and it seems okay. I have not checked to see if there are any updates.

4. Well, if you do plan to run a telnet BBS on the same machine, then you may want to change the port on the TWGS. Also, I was overwhelmed by the additional features of the TWGS than the older TradeWars we SysOp's use to have running. Once you navigate around, it becomes clear.

Hope that helps you. :)

The server updates and change log can be found at: http://www.eisonline.com/twgs/beta/
I would suggest you upgrade to .55, as it fixes some fairly serious bugs. However, when banging new games, do not use the min/max tunnel length setting in bigbang.
