Deleting Message Log (helper or game error?)

I seem to have run into some sort of error in deleting the personal message log in Trade Wars (gold game, using helpers: SWATH and TWX).

In one of the games I am currently playing, I log on and view the message log no problem, but when I try press Y to delete it, the game locks up. Choosing not to delete the message log does not result in such an error. Also, when I exit the game, the game freezes at 50% progress in cleaning up the mailbox. This now happens consistently for only the one particular game. Furthermore, the problem only presented itself after 7 days of playing the game in question.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Or has anyone experienced this same problem? I will try connecting without a helper and see if the problem persist - to at least determine if it is a helper or game/server issue. My hope is that it turns out to be a helper issue, as my mailbox is growing fast; I'd much rather be spending more time playing than scrolling through my messages [V]

Any info is appreciated.

Sounds like the mail.dat file has gotten corrupted. You need to ask the sysop to delete the mail.dat file found in the game directory. That should clear the problem right up.

Well, the problem seems to have been rectified, and my excess mail has vanished. I assume that (as you said,) the sysop must have deleted the mail.dat file. Thanks Rave
