This message is primarily for the old school TW folks, like Gypsy who are involved with TWGS, as well for JP. Now, my frame of reference is primarily HVS MBBS versions before and up to P, as well as the version that came along afterward with type 2 transwarp. Before coming back to TW those are the last versions I played heavily. Before I make my points, I want EIS and JP to know that I very much appreciate the work you have done to keep TW alive and make it better. That said, what the hell are you guys doing? As you may or may not be aware based ony my occasional posts in Ygroups, I am somewhat a TW pure-ist. The tholian is now worthless from what I can tell, the invader can attack the defending tholian before trying to land on the target planet, and the tholian only gets its basic odds?? The missile frigate can no longer fly though mines and nav haz and such with photons onboard and be immune to the effect of hitting such obstacles? The IC can now be active even when a user is offline? Come on guys, these are major changes that eliminate a whole range of strategies that we used to employ. Essentially the tholian and frigate are useless, you might as well pull those ships out of the game. The IC thing is no good either. Would you even consider adding these feature back to TW, or are they gone forever? These are the 3 biggest ones I am aware of, there may be others out there. I am still getting over the new ore used per quasar blast equations, as I think it unbalances the game a little, but at least quasars still work <G> and haven't been replaced with happy pink ray guns <G>
