I noticed a post here, about connecting Servers to increase sector size. I assumed that this is what JumpGate was all about when I first saw it, (If someone could tell me what jumpgate is, in I'd appricate that).
But what I was going to suggest, was that one of the problems was with incompatiblity. However, what I was thinking was if a Player crossed a server port, threshold, whatever you want to call it. That What ever software that linked the server together, would gather the needed information about that players ship, and stored it in a temp section or temp area in the userdata file (I wouldn't be surprised if this is where it was.) I don't know how much reprogramming if any would be required. But as far as different StarDocks having Different Ships this wouldn't even be a factor, as it would be add to the enjoyment of the game, ( each sysop selling different ships/different versions adding to the multi-verse)
Just thought I'd add a comment or two.
Thanks,
Ddraig.
