I am about to rant or flame as some people put it. People over at TW: Dark Mil. were saying "these people are gamers, and doing for the love of the game. It is not about the money." This is total BS. This is what I posted;
Don't kid yourself!! It is all about the money. First you have to buy the orginal game, and then you have to pay $10 a month to play this game. Let's look at this...
Say the game cost $30 (you know it will be more)
And let's say they have 1000 users (which will be low)
The Equation for one year:
1000 [users] x 30 plus 1000[users]x (12[months] x 10) = $150,000
Now, you are going to sit here and tell me that it isn't about the money. B***S***T!!! If it was truely not about the money you wouldn't have to pay a monthly fee.....not practical? Then how about games like Diablo, Diablo II, Red Alert, etc. etc.
I get fustrated by this, where I end up paying in a single year (going by the numbers up above) $150 for a game.
Plus they still sell add-ons...i.e. Everquest!!
This baffles me why people would pay $150 to play a game. So when it all boils down to it;
IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY DON'T KID YOURSELF!!
..............
Plus they never take into account what happens when the company goes out of business in the long run. You are left with software you can't run [yet dump tons of money into] becuase there is no server to play on. If they were true gamers, you would want people to "play" around. We all have been there and done that!! Just like TW2002 so you end up with different flavors.
Personally, I think JP is a sellout. I know he had his reason for selling the name. BUT limiting what he can do with Tw2002 just blows my mind!! Just my opinion! (like somebody said opinions are like a**h***s, we all have one)
Thank you for letting me get this out. It has been boiling inside me for a long time. Just for the record I don't own, and never will own a subscription game.
In summation: I was wondering what "REAL" TW2002 fanatics thoughts were?
