Could I get some help here? Please Adult help only. I use to have a BBS called BreakOut Through most of the 80's and part of the early 90's. I have always hosted a TradeWars game or two. I also purchased the rights and ownership of an addon way back when called TradeWorld. Again it was a TradeWars addon.. I haven't kept up with the new TradeWars for sometime (shame on me). However, this is all going to change. I am hosting TradeWars again, and love the new style and changes. But, I am looking for addons and or helper programs to complament TradeWorlds. Could any of you that have any serious responses please leave them here for me or email them to me.

As far as I know, there are no addons for the current versions of tradewars.

I know Chris, you said adults only, but...I'm curious . What's TradeWorld?

trade World was an addon to TradeWars. I foret who the orriginal Athuor is. I will have to look it up. I bought it, but did keep up with it. It is a door program that allowed for alot of new features for tradewars players.

This came up a few years ago on the old War Room forums or TW2002 listserv. I can just barely remember it, but as I recall someone said that you can use the last version of TradeWorld with the Door version 3.08 or 3.09 (whichever was current - been a while) IF you first installed TW2002 2.00WB8, installed TradeWorld, then upgraded to 3.0x. I experimented with it a little myself and it seemed to work but without reg codes for TradeWorld there wasn't a lot you could do with it.

Obviously this is totally unsupported and you can forget about getting it to work with the TWGS.

Yeah, The program works but when I quit working on TradeWorld, Was right shorly after Pritchet got involved. There was something that he had changed in one of his file that I need to change in the trade World program.. Not a big deal. I think that He or they at the time would have helped me how with it if I needed it. I was kinda of getting out of it at the time. I will look up the program and see if it won't work. but I don't think so now.. Way to many changes have happened and I just haven't kept up with it. I am sure the program works but if it doesn't intgrate with TW then it really isn't worth having with out fixing it again.

None of the old addons for Trade Wars for earlier versions of the game will work under TWGS. The data structure of the files has changed considerably, as have the file locking routines. If you are not making changes to data files from WITHIN the game, using the game's engine, you can expect to end up with data corruption.

You -may- be able to get some of the old addons to work with the door version of TW v3, but I don't suggest using the door version... it has it's own... quirks... and is no longer being developed.
