Ok. This is getting a habit of people trashing SWATH's ztm. I have never had it crash on me. But no one wants to use it. Why?

Easy answer ? or the more technical answer?
Easy answer is there are better scripts out there.
More technical answer... 1.8X has a problem and stein is working on it.

The Swath ztm is great .. I've used it for years ..
Yes there is better .. for one SupG's or Cherokee's .. both will allow you to monitor COMMS windows in swath and chat back ...
Unlike Swath's ztm .. where you are in computer mode and are excluded from game stuff.
Hope that answers you better.

I used to use the SWATH ztm exclusively until I got into using TWX. One reason is that the SWATH ztm hogs the game. You can't do anything while it's running. More of a start it at bedtime and let it run all night. If you run lets say CK's ztm you can still see whats going on and can interact via the SWATH comm window (which has a small problem still) with other players while it's working.
I and prolly most others that use SWATH use it for the data collection and it's searchability and use TWX for all the other day to day stuff. I really like the GUI map, helps put the universe into perspective.
Personally SWATH is an awesome product. Others will swear by their helper and I can't and won't speak badly about them. I mean honestly....look at all the stuff you get for $25.00....Almost everything asked for got/gets granted....some a little slower than others but those guys are bending over backwards for us....[^]

SWATH is awsome! I am curious what happened to the ZTM data though, it worked fine in the earlier versions. Sure it has some drawbacks, with time it will surely get better though! One thing I would like to see is more updated sector info, once it places a ship or planet in a sector it stays there and just dupes itself over and over. I realize that is because it can't tell if it is the same one or not, but still it gets kind of confusing... especially in large games. Oh and while on the subject could future versions include the possibility of changing the info bar to other colors? Because as we all know I really hate grey, LMAO...hehe [:P]

with a simple telnet and TWX using supg's or ck's ztm, you can still chat back, without needing a "chat window"
and there are no bugs in doing so.

What I am hearing is mostly that you can't chat doing ztms in SWATH. I have now use all three of the major ztms and find that SupGs is MUCH faster. Anyone care to comment on how reliable it is?

supg's is reliable.
it uses rev's method and is keyed towards being efficient, yet fast.
i use supg's, then just use a ztm checker afterwards to pick up the last few warps that it misses.

SWATH's ztm is inaccurate. There have been several threads that cover this. That's why there aren't any top players that rely on it.

I suppose I should clarify that a bit. Not inaccurate, incomplete.

So who gave it an award for best helper ztm? It is written on the yellow ribbon in the main page at SWATH's website.

I used it recently to test out the bubble game, Found bubbles, but it was wrong.
And wouldn't incomplete be inaccurate anyways?
I am often incomplete and my boss says that is inaccurate [|)].

Obviously, it s both. I really am starting to wonder now as to who gave it an award for the ztm. I wonder if the granters knew how to play the game. That is very misleading.
