Is there any easy way to get rid of debris other than create a planet?

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of taking over Ferengal. I set up a few mines to stop the Ferengi and they waltzed in. Within two days the amount of debris was up to 40%. I have no idea what it is now, because I can't get in without killing my own ship. The debris count must be increasing and pretty close to 100%. Every day we get about 20 or 30 messages of Ferengi traders that impaled themselves on nav hazards and I'm sure they're all from that sector. Will we ever run out of Ferengi? Is there a way to clear it without entering it? Can ANY ship survive 100% nav hazards?
