I am in this game, with 250T experience, and 4.5M alignment, with less than 90 figs in stardock, I still got attacked by positive alignment person, and he didnt go negative, he destroyed my ship but still able to keep positive alignment, how is that possible? is he cheating or something? I have never been able to attack someone at stardock an get away with it, especially if i have positive alignment an they have positive alignment... how does that work? |

Once you have 1000 experience or above you are not longer fedsafe. You can cloak at stardock with less than 100 figs and should be safe unless the cloak fails at extern. (With the default setting of 3% that could happen as often as once a month) With high experience you would be a tempting target for a red (evil) player looking to raise their experience by killing you. Rand is correct about the fedsafe thing. As to the other part... IF he was at approx 2.9+ million pos alignment, then it's possible for him to do this, since he probably lost very few figs in the process of podding you, and he only loses 1/2 of your alignment. The following is straight from my webpage, in the formula's section: MBBS GOLD or MBBS Player vs Player Experience and Alignment info: If you are podded, you loose 10% of your exp. If you are #SD#, then you loose 50% of your exp, and 50% of your alignment. Blue vs Red or Red vs Blue Amount of Alignment lost/gained = (# of YOUR figs lost/1000) * (Enemy Align * .2) Amount of Exp gained = # of YOUR figs lost/15 If you pod them, then you also get 10% of their experience, and 50% of their Alignment. If you #SD# them, then you get 10% of their exp, and 50% of their Alignment. (i.e. A blue attacks a red. The blue has 30k figs, the red has a mere 20k. The Blue has 0 exp, and 1100 align, while the Red has 12,000 exp, and -100,000 align. If the blue launches a wave of 10k figs at the red, then the blue will gain 666 exp, and +200,000 align. Assuming that the red has only 8000 figs left, and the blue launches another 10k wave, then the blue would loose, say, 7000 figs, and the red would be in a pod. But the blue gains 533 exp and +160,000 align for the figs, and an additional 1200 exp and +50000 alignment for the podding. If the blue were to finish off the pod, then he'd get another 1 exp and +600 align for the figs/shields on the pod, and another 1080 exp and +50000 alignment. After the conflict, the Red would be at 5400 exp, and -50000 align, while the blue would be at 3480 exp, and +460,600 align.) Blue vs Blue or Red vs Red Amount of Alignment lost/gained = (# of YOUR figs lost/1000) * (Enemy Align * .2) Amount of Exp gained = # of YOUR figs lost/35 If you pod them, then you also get 10% of their experience, and 50% of their Alignment. If you #SD# them, then you get 10% of their exp, and 50% of their Alignment. Neutral vs Any (people with 0 alignment) Amount of Alignment lost/gained = (# of YOUR figs lost/1000) * (Enemy Align * .2) Amount of Exp gained = # of YOUR figs lost/25 If you pod them, then you also get 10% of their experience, and 50% of their Alignment. If you #SD# them, then you get 10% of their exp, and 50% of their Alignment. GOLD or Classic Player vs Figs Experience and Alignment Info (Corp or Personal) Blue vs Red or Red vs Blue Amount of Exp gained: (# of figs you LOST / 15) Amount of Alignment Lost/gained: (Player or Corp alignment / 5000) * number of figs you LOST i.e. your enemy has 1000 tolled figs, and you attack them. If the enemy has a personal alignment of -10,000, and a corp alignment of -5000, then if you attack them (assume 1 to 1 odds) and loose 1000 figs in the process, then you will gain 67 exp, and gain 2000 exp for hitting his personal figs, or 1000 exp for hitting corp figs. It's the figs YOU loose that matter, not how many they have. Blue vs Blue or Red vs Red Amount of Exp gained: (# of figs you LOST / 35) Amount of Alignment Lost/gained: (Player or Corp alignment / 10000) * number of figs you LOST Note that the Experience is the same as MBBS, but the alignment penalties are different. Go figure. Hope his helps. -Traitor Visit http://www.tw-cabal.com P.S. Had to edit this to correct my math. I can't add after 2am... Edited by - Traitor on July 27 2002 02:27:12 AM |

I understand what your both saying, but what I am asking is how can you attack someone who is blue and your blue at the stardock, everytime I keep doing it, that Zyrain person keeps coming over n over. How is it that I can murder someone at spacedock being blue against blue. |

How is it that I can murder someone at spacedock being blue against blue. What makes someone fedsafe (ie safe from attacks while at stardock or in sectors 1-10). Having 0 or greater alignment and less than 1000 exp. Some facts about Zyrain... Zyrain only warps in if you attack a Blue trader with less than 1000 exp, an empty ship, or a blue alien with less than 1000 exp. He will not ever attack for these actions. Zyrain will only attack you if you attack him first, fly in a commissioned ship while you have negative alignment, or try to drop mines or figs in Fed Space. So if you had 250k exp, and were sitting at stardock you are vunerable to being attacked by ALL other traders in the game. |

I see, so as long as I have less than 1000 exp, I am basically safe in any stardock, or fed space. So i just have to remain like a civilian then, an just sit in those areas to be safe. |

quote: One last thing I wondered, is it possible to attack federation ships, zyrain, etc. No, they will pod you instantly. Although, I don't know if this still holds true or not, but you use to be able to trap Clauswitz and Nelson in deadends with figs. Zyrain though has the ability to warp anywhere he wants so you can't trap him. Edited by - Survey_Says on July 28 2002 6:01:46 PM |

quote: One last thing I wondered, is it possible to attack federation ships, zyrain, etc. No. You will die. Quickly. No matter how many fighters you have, no matter what your combat odds are, no matter what ship you are in or where you are. Attack a Fed and get obliterated. At least for the time being... Lisa M. Your fedspace protection only applies to Sectors 1-10 and to the Sector that StarDock (StarGate Alpha I) are located in. You will not be safe at the two non-fedspace Class 0 ports (Rylos and Alpha Centauri). Lisa M. Cutler aka Rave EIS Product Support |

I heard last time in older versions of the game you were able to trap clauswitz and nelson, but I havent seen anyone do it so far yet. So when you read on daily logs and it says that so n so attacked a federation ship, but doesnt show anything of anyone gettin killed what does that mean? |

They aren't really needed for anything. Just simply curiosity. When I 1st started I got the impression that if you could trap them, you would have better odds in flying your evil ISS, as if having 2 less federals improved your chances of not being destoyed. That's all I could come up with as to why anyone would want to, even though I'm pretty confident that is not the case... |
