Hello! I have a few questions that I would love to have answered..
Currently in my game, I have noticed that there is alot of Nav-Haz.. I was wondering how much damage you take from Nav haz, i.e. if there is 75% in a sector does that mean that I will take 7500 if it hits me? Also does the NavHaz hit fighters or just shields?
(Note this is a classic game)
Next question... If I have a T-Warp capable planet, and I am trying to invade someone, can I warp my planet into their sector if I am able to put a fighter above their planets? (i.e. wipe the sector clear of fgtrs and drop some of my own?).. THEN would I be able to land and take off of my planet without getting hit with their qzar??
(Note that there are no photon's in this game)
Lastly, If I tow a ship into their sector will it get hit with their qzar also, if it isnt occupied by someone?
Sorry for all the questions, but anything you can do to help would be great!! THanks for the help!

each % of navhaz hits you for 10 damage, so 75% would = 750
also the more haz in sector, the more likely you are to get hit
it hits both fighters and shields

you can pwarp your planet anywhere you have a fighter. And once you're in that sector you can lift off / land on your planet without being hit by debris/mines/figs/quasars, if you log out in any way while in that sector (citadel or normal exit), however, you'll get hit once you log back in (if you log out/log in from your citadel, you'll get hit once you lift off the planet)

nope
hope this helps
good luck

10bp damage for each % point of nav haz, it hits shields first if any and then fighters

You can clean the sector of enemy fighters and lay a fighter of your own, and then warp a planet in and lift off without facing a cannon blast, but you have to enter on the planet, straight warping in will cause the cannons to triggger

towed ships don't incur damage incurred by the ship towing, meaning they don't get hit by offensive fighters, cannons, mines or nav haz. This goes for manned or unmanned ships in tow.

That is awesome!!! Thanks for the advice on this issue..
One last question, can i transport into a ship that is vacant in someone's sector? ie. I tow a ship into an enemy sector, then a buddy transports into the ship.. will he be hit with a qzar.. I see from the other response that the towed ship wont get hit, but will a transported person get hit.. (I doubt it.. but thought I would ask..)
Also, do you have any advice for me getting through the following defenses...
sectors are in order from the entrence.. This is a 5 deep dead end..
Sector 1 has 75% nav haz, Sector 2 75% nav haz, sector 3 Mines and fighters.. I think I can take out the mines and fighters without a problem.. However how can I get through the nav haz best.. I know that they have about 10 nice little planets back there for me to take.. But I am having difficulty thinking up a good plan for the nav haz.. Once I get past that I plan to have a buddy warp in our big planet with all our fighters on it so that we can mop up the sector..
Next question.. If I am good and get a SS.. Then I turn evil.. Will I still be able to use my SS.. or will it tell me I am not authorized to pilot it..
Thanks for the help on that one also..

Create planets to absorb the nav haz, each planet will remove 10% from the sector so with 75% you would need to create 8 planets in each sector to clear it.
If you go red in an ISS, best suggestion is to transport out without moving or Capatin Z will pod you, you can get by with a couple moves usually if you only land on your own fighters, like a twarp to your base to change ships, but dont push it, he can go anywhere to pod you.

So there is no way to hold onto the SS when I turn Evil? As I plan to go evil very soon.. So I should just go ahead and sell the SS before I do?
Also, I replied in the other thread about large exp.. But I read that you can get more exp by blowing up a planet with lots of fuel ore on it.. Is that true? Does it make a difference what Kind of planet you blow up? I am sitting at like 5000 xp right now.. and want to get up real quick so I can turn evil.. But trading I am not getting to much exp.. (2-4 a port).. So it is slow going..
ANy help would be apriciated..

A person xporting in won't get hit by the cannons, etc. If you try to fly around in a ship requiring a commision after you lose your commision, the feds will eventually pod you. You may get podded the first time you move or you may get 10 or more moves, but eventually you will get the ship blown up.

5000 experience is plenty to start playing red. Even with 100% rob/steal settings, you can steal 166 holds/attempt. The best way to increase your experience (normally) is to make some money, then bust planets at stardock. That is, you create a planet then blow it up. It will cost you 35k credits (in a stock game) and give you 75 exp.

haggling at port (while ship trading for xp) generally IMO isnt worth the time wether in a 1k turn game or unlimited. as kemp said 5k xp, heh, thats plenty to start red. u dont have to be able to steal full holds to start stealing, as you steal, you get xp and as long as you have setting correct, you will get up to stealing full holds in no time with a 5k xp start

One thing I allways like when a game starts, the quickest way to go evil is to Run to that star dock and trade your MC in for a Scout. Go find an port trading pair XSB, XBS, and use one of the may helpers to run a trading script,to effectivly be able to get 2 Exp for tradeing each Item, IE 2 exp for Buying and 2 Exp for selling, You can generaly run up enough exp to go evil quicker then trying to make money and Bust planets for exp. because of the SM low turns per warp you can trade yopur turns for exp 4 Exp per 6 turns. Gaining enough cash to return to the ST and get a ship of you choice with enough holds to go evil, return to those few ports you have deposited money at, Rob them, and be on your way to galatic rule.

Unless time is REALLY important, haggling is worthwhile. You make probably 5-10% more cash, if nothing else. Also, if you're going to go red, it's pretty much free experience. After all, you're already out their ppting anyway.
