I have a dedicated server running version .56 had .55 installed before and had the same problem. Me and some friends are playing on it and they are having problems with account lockups and they have to disconnect and reconnect to continue. It doesnt seem to happen on any kind of time period and it never drops me. (I am connected by LAN) I am on DSL and using a netgear router. Any Ideas? |

I would guess it's a connection issue with your ISP. |

I agree with Harley that the most likely culprit is your DSL provider, as I have seen other GameOps with DSL complain of infrequent random drops and lock-ups. I would also suggest getting an system analysis tool, I recommend system mechanic professional 4, and run the registry checker/cleaner, hard disk utilities, memory optimizer and network connection optimizer. While this may not solve your immediate problem, it will help your system run faster and remain more stable. |

I think that in today's day and age people should be capable of using a search engine atleast to this extent, don't you? |

In today's day and age, people want things to be handed to them. Similar to the way they want tradewars to be played... TradeEasy |

I just had some problems with people getting logged off on my server and after checking around a little I found the twmail.dat file for one game was about 12 meg and deleted it and I found another game at about 8 meg and deleted that one too. They report no problems since I deleted them so I would suggest looking there also. P.S. Hey EIS guys, any ideas on fixing this problem? |

TradeEasy Agreed, they want a bot script that can play the game for them. Nobody has done this yet, but they have made bot scripts to play part of the game such as attacking, trading, colonizing, exploring, etc. The real trick is learning how to run the scripts and type in the numbers, etc to start them up. Some people never think about using a search engine and just want the link to the product so they don't have to take the time to search for it. I often get bad results with Google and hate to use it. I was trying to find program codes for my GE Universal 3 button remote, and got all kinds of bad results back. Plenty of web sites that wanted to sell me one, a "Big Button" GE remote that was not the same, RCA and Sharp remotes, but not what I wanted. I never found the codes I needed, so I am going to trash the remote or sell it at the next garage sale and hope whomever buys it can find the codes. |

Same thing has recently happened to me on 56 on System 78. I have had lockups in my connection for 5 times in a row now. Had to disconnect and reconnect. It really has me upset. Even worse now, my account has been deleted it asked me if I wanted to create a new account when I logged back in not too long ago. I verified it and it is 56 being run. I tried ATTAC, SWATH, J-TWAT and all experienced the same lockup and data loss. I logged back in and my account was back. I used a login script so it couldn't be me typing my name in wrong. Either that or Chris fixed it with the email I sent him about it. |

Am I missing something? Is there some previous animosity between Rick Meads (TeamEIS... TW Representative... TW Project Manager), and Strider who posted a comment/question that contains no quip or smart remark?? Here, the staff is showing attitude without provocation. You'll help Agent D and guide him, only to turn around and snap at Strider. This is the Support and Help Forum. As Harley is fond of saying... "Save that for the Smack forum. And once upon a time, non-relevant posts were considered spam, so please overlook the non-relevant nature of this one Agent D. +EP+ |

I am sure that he feels his time can be used better for other things. He said the same thing to me when I asked about patients, so it is not just directed at Strider. It is a general response to someone who did not do the research to find what he had to link to. |

Good question Agent D, you should have your external TWGS connections drop as well. Are these .55 ot .56 TWGS servers you are connecting to? Can you check? |

The difference being is many service providers don't allow running servers on basic monthly accounts and either block or monitor traffic for incoming activity and often time disrupt incoming connections to deter there subscribers from running active servers. The best bet when experiencing problems with your connection is to start at the source. |

Orion he states in his very 1st post that it's .56 and was having the same problem with .55, while help is appreciated these are the technical support forums, try and stick with posting to topics where you can offer help resolving. |
