Hello... I'm not really a newbie to Tradewars, used to play it on many BBS' back in the early 90's... However, now I decided to get back into it. I was thinking of setting up my own server to host a game for myself and my friends. However I really don't know the first thing about doing that, I was wondering if there is any documents or FAQ's for Step by Step procedures or what exactly you need to set up a server and get people to Telnet to your server... Any help would be appreciated. Thank you [:)] |

The software comes with documentation, downloadit and give it a try. If you have any further question, there are plenty of people here that can help. |

Gatekeeper, I didn't know anything about setting up games either but with a bit of trial and error and asking the odd 'seemingly stupid question of the day' I got pretty good at it. My games aren't open to the general public yet as I'm still waitin for a dynamic ip from my provider but soon, I hope |

It can be set up on almost any computer, any one with newer than a 386 processor anyway, just load it up and go for it. |

Yes, I too would like to setup a game to bang around with. But how and where do I get a registered copy? How much does it cost? Does it cost anything? |

Thanx for the quick reply Harley. Now if only I could figure out which one to buy. I'd Like to get TW Gold. But I don't know what other software I need to buy. I know I need TWGS. But what else do I need? Is there any thing else that I need? Can I just purchase a software package? |

When you download TWGS , and prepair to pay for registration you will have to deside on the Lite version or the full version. The Lite version limits your nodes (active number of players). And in most cases you will want GOLD because that is the part where alien's , ships, planets are edited from. Without it you will have standard aliens, planets ,ships only. Hope this helps Vid Kid/CareTaker Vid's World on Guam telnet://vidsworld.no-ip.org:2002 Vid's Hints , Tips & Scripts Register/Game Request |

if you are planning on starting your own server and want more then 4 people playing at once which i do strongly suggest expecially for unlim games i would get the full package which is 80 bones and includes tw2002, gold, and the TWGS server with up to 100 total nodes..... Strider |

Strider is right, the full version is a much better choice. Sometimes you may have to wait a bit for your codes. |
