PLEASE HELP!
Im new to this and I have the reg. vers. of twgs lite installed on my server. Was running a test with a friend to make sure it worked and the power in my area went down ( I know a backup or UPS would solve that problem but don't have 1 right now ) anyway, the pwr. went down and everything went dead, I brought everything back up when the pwr. came back on and now twgs will not start the server...gives an error when it hits the binding player listener 10049 error code and that's it.
How can I correct this or will I need to re-install twgs? [xx(] [:(]

I've never heard of this before, but reinstalling twgs should solve it. Most likely, you won't even need to rebang your game, just reinstall over the current copy.

I just tried that HN... It seemed to reinstall twgs and then I started it and tried to start server....same error..this pc does not have much of anything else installed on it thus far so I can't understand what could be the hangup here. If I have to uninstall and then re-install to make it work I can but is there any way to possibly save my game files and re-intergrate them onto the new install with settings and all intact?

You'll probably have to rebang your game
Make a new game.. if that one works, you know your old game is f00ked

this is really driving me nuts now... I have uninstalled the twgs server completely just in case I had messed up files and re-installed it on a different drive to test this out and still the same thing! I am really hating this but at first it was working like a charm and I even had a friend connect to my game and play and we were both loving life with it and now it won't START!!!
I was even going to call MS and see if they had any idea but all the XP techies went home early tonight so I guess Im stuck with no server till tomorrow . This does NOT make for a happy camper! ; P

The problem you have here. Is very easy to diagnose and fix. The above error you keep getting. 1. Usually refers to the port # you have TWGS set to use. Is being used by some other program/service on your system. 2. Sometimes it refers to that it is unable to establish your IP address.
The most common of the two, is 1. So I would suggest that you changed the port # TWGS is using for the player. And then attempt to start the server. That should take care of your problem.
If it does fix your problem. Then you need to find out what program/service on your computer is using the port # you had set for TWGS. Then you either set that program/service to use another port #. Or do not use that program/service. Or just leave TWGS with the port # that works.
If not, then you know that for some reason TWGS is unable to establish your computers IP address. Then you will need to look into what is causing this problem.

Thank you Wabbit, learn something new every day. I tested locally and the 10049 error occurs when it has problems with your IP address. Go to Configure|server and look at the IP Addr option. If it isn't set to auto, set it to auto and try that. If it IS set to auto, try setting it to name or dotted and manually entering your IP address.

remember that if your us the name setting. You need to use your dns address, not your ip addres. use your ip address for the dotted option.
