I need to adjust my clock on the computer. It is running about 3 minutes slow. Can I just adjust the clock, and not have to do anything to Tradewars or do I have to do the Change Game Time option under the editor? Also, is that a global setting, or do I have to do it for each game? I know some things in TEDIT affect all tedits for every game (IE. Ship Delay mode, Processing interval, etc.). Is Change Game Time one of those?

Any time you make a change to the time on your computer, you need to shut down the twgs and restart it. If you don't, you'll end up with sync issues.

OMG PLEASE DO NOT
Do not ever change the gametime while game is live. We've seen problems that you can't even imagine. Even daylight savings can
cause problems. The ONLY way to change the computer time is to:
1) Know what time your computer reads now... write it down
2) shut down twgs completely.
3) Do not under any circumstances restart twgs until AFTER the
time that you wrote down passes. This could be an hour in the case
of daylight savings. Just don't do it. You're players will revolt.

So what exactly would I need to do? Let me explain what I think you mean...I have to shut down TWGS completely. Change my clock back, then wait again for it to come to the time it was when I set it back, then start TWGS... Do i have to do anything with the game stamps then? Also, my server was running when we jumped ahead that hour and everything seems to be working fine.... But if I am wrong about doing the time change thing, let me know... My clocks have to be right on the money in my house or it screws me up big time...

The problem comes because the TWGS keeps time independent of your clock, and only syncronizes on start up. If setting it forward, you can restart it again right away. If setting it back, it's best to wait until the time it was has passed, or people will get extra turns, etc.

Gotcha. Ok. Thanks for the info. So I should never have to worry about the option in the TEDITer then, right?

hmm, never seen that before. It looks to me like not only should you take down the system, but also use the tedit option. I have no idea if it's local or global, but I would guess local. Sorry I can't be of more help, I've never had any experience with it. From what I've seen done before, you should be ok to make small changes just making sure you take down your server before you do.

I agree with Campus . Don't mess with this unless the server is off.
And then know what your doing.
It is used to re-sinc your system if your timing got knocked off while server was running. Mainly if your in one of those daylight savings time loop (lucky me , we dont use that).
Main one I think is the fall one (DST) cause of the time clock retards and the twgs will continue data recording which will make out of snyc data errors .
In most cases you can turn your server off and adjust pc's clock one hour if no one was online. If players were online then you may have to use this feature to correct the time within twgs after server is downed and system clock reset.
I hope this helps.
