How do you go about activating a port manually. If I want to manually create, through tedit, a port in sector 300. I go into the sector editor, select port, it says edit port Y/N, if you select yes, then you edit the next unused port in the game, say 50, and when you exit its not there. If you answer no, it asks for a port number, you put in 50 and it says "That port isnt active!", when you hit enter after the pause it puts the port in that sector. If you then go into the game to sector 300 you will find the port you just created there but when you try to port at it you get the same reaction as the Gold Bubble bug with ports. You try to port and it kicks you back out not allowing you to use the port. I can move existing ports in the game to anywhere I want them but the only way I have been able to create ports where I want them manually is to go into the game, physically start construction on a port in the sector I want it in and then go into tedit and edit the port that way. This seems like a lot of work for adding a port somewhere. Is there a better or easier way to do this.[:(]

I don't know of any other way. If someone else can provide more info, it would be appreciated.

Well, I have confirmed that this is a bug. As I also get the same results. It does not matter if you add the port through the port editor. Before adding it to the sector editor. Or add it from the sector editor.

From what I can see when manually adding ports. It does the same thing as the bubbles tunnle bug. For some reason it is not registering the port. Although the port is visible in the game.

I have fired off a bug report to JP about this. I hop it will be fixed in the next version.

Enter the game as a regular trader.

Use the O - Port Construction command.

Go into TEDIT, and change it however you like.
