Ok this is the second time this problem has come up on my server. First time I rebanged the game because it was a test game anyway but this time it is an active game with active players and I would like to avoid having them all ticked off at me.[B)] I have 2 of the players on my server that are the only ones affected. They log in, scroll through their messages, when they get to the Delete Messages line the problem starts. If they say Yes, it locks them up and they cant do anything else except disconnect from the game, it also throws up a "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" window on the server computer.[xx(] If they say No, they can go about playing the game normally until they log off and it cleans up the messages and does the same thing. I physically shut everything down this morning and looked up everyones passwords and logged on local as them to verify who was affected and only 2 players had the problem. I need to find out if anyone else has had this problem and if so how to fix it without having to rebang.[:(!]

First of all this is a known bug in earlier versions of TWGS/TW2002. And, as far as I know, has been fixed. What version of TWGS/tw2002 are you using?

All you have to do, to fix this problem. Is to delete the TWMAIL.DAT file that belongs to the game in question. By doing this, the players will lose any and all mail/messages. But, the game will not have to be rebanged.


If you do not have the current build of TWGS/TW2002 v1.01.55. Then I would suggest that upgrade to it.

I just received an email from JP with the same suggestion. I do have the latest version but it still happens. One thing I noticed was in both instances the games were about 18-20 days into the game when it happened. Thanks for the info anyway.
