Is anyone running TWGS from behind a Linksys router? I want to put my TWGS game on my computer at work but I can't figure out the settings. I have access to the router settings, so I can change them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Didi you ever get the server up? I just installed a linksys router, and I can only get the TWGS from within the firewall. I have tried everything. I called the support people for linksys, and they walked me through, and still doesn't work from outside the firewall. any help would be appreciated.

You need to set up your router for port forwarding under the advanced features tab of Linksys' HTML based router management. If you're hosting your server on internal address 192.168.1.1 on port 23, you need to make sure your router is forwarding port 23 to internal address 192.168.1.1.

If you're unsure of how to do this I can provide some more detailed instructions.

As a side note, be aware that the Linksys BEFSR41 router has a known vulnerability that allows anyone on the internet to crash it simply by executing one of the remote management cgi scripts. They don't even need administrative access. This can be avoided by updating your flash or by disabling remote management. (Thanks to Colonel Sanders for pointing this out several days ago.)

I'd like to say thanks to everybody for the help. using a combination of the suggestions made, the Slaughter House Server is now up and running. The address is 24.116.149.39 Port 23. Thanks again and feel free to join in the games at any time. I am also taking suggestions on certain edits that players would like to see in future games. Thanks, Romero.
