I have been playing on the italian leagues site in game b and c for the last month. I just swapped from dial-up to cable. When I went on last night I signed in like I usually do and played the C game which no one playes anymore and then I went to play the B game it told me I could not play, that it was a restricted game. I dont know how to get in touch with the sysop. Can anyone help me. Also, do you think it might be because I have a different IP address. That is the only think I can think of.

As far as I know it isn't possible to restrict people from certain games based on IPs. It's either a whole server or nothing thing

I got in touch with them and got it worked out. He rebanged the game and is running a private game there. He went ahead and regestered me and allowed me to start playing. Told me to tell everyone, so prestone if you are reading you can PLAY AGAIN.

Isn't this the guy that set up a league game then went on vacation as it started? The game was a week old at the given start date. He rebanged it once without notice sometime during the second day, then never sent in his league stuff or responded to the board. The league desanctioned both the game and the server. His posts on the league site were sounding like he rebanged everything for a third time, and wanted a restart 2nd chance. Just a bit too flaky, even for me.

It was worse than that. The sysop supposedly edited a player into Stardock with an ISS. Also, there was some talk about users creating dupes. Apparently, the guy didn't police his game too well, and the League desanctioned it. I didn't see the big deal. One corp got a headstart, had SD blockaded, and had al the resources. It looked like a done deal.

Hmmm.. you don't see the big deal? Nobody, no matter how good they are can compete against an invisible sysop who edits things in for their buddies. You would not settle for this in a regular game, and certainly should not have to deal with it in a league-sanctioned game.

League play has a lot of advantages - the edits and settings are posted in advance, there are guidelines and ways to have your concerns addressed before they get out of hand, and there is at least an attempt to be fair to all. Players at least know what to expect as far as a playing environment, and know what the goal is. Unless you hand everyone an ISS, the only outcome is to be de-sanctioned and embarrassed in front of everyone.

In my eyes, the excuse that he was on vacation was the 3rd strike. What responsible sysop would schedule a league game to start right before leaving town?
