I was thinking about the ability to stall a game by blowing up class 0 ports. Currently, a gameop can rebuild StarDock at any time, but the other class 0 ports must be regenerated by extern.
What would you players think of the option to pay for a rebuild on a class 0 port? It could be treated as a donation or a private funding to get the port back up and running. If one Corp destroyed the class 0 ports and another Corp really needed them, then that Corp would have to decide if it's worth paying the heavy cost to have one or more of the ports rebuilt. But if any of the Corps rebuild the port, then it's available to all players in the game, and will be harder to destroy the next time around.
There's still incentive to blow a class 0 port because it creates a direct cost against one of the other top Corporations. But in general, I think, the game will flow more smoothly because someone (or some group) will pay the price to get the port back open.
Any comments?
