I recently got back into the game, and am running a server for some Old School TW junkie friends. I am running TWGS 1.03 with TW 2002 v3 (3.11 I believe) - telnet. I was talking to JP about extenders and he pointed me here. I did alot of reading, and see that none of the old extender add-ons work. Looks like scripting is the name of the game now, and I read that several Sysops were working their magic by coming up scripts to mirror the old Extenders of v2. I was curious as to the progress of these scripts, and if any of you have them finished and rolling. If so, where can I find them? Thanks guys! N |

#1 you'll want to upgrade to 3.13 (no universally known major bugs as are in older version) #2 extenders? this just making the universe bigger? or things like the old borg expansion things you could download waaay back when? |

Well, after two days, and two separate e-mails, the Stardock STILL won't send me a password via e-mail, so I can access the files there. Any help would be graciously appreciated. N |

I haven't had any luck with the Mad Hatter's files from The Stardock either - I've downloaded several but they are just empty zip files. I do have a Genesis script that I wrote that will populate the universe with random planet groups through TEdit. If you're interested let me know and I'll send you a copy. |

Well I have seen The Mad Hatter post on twgs.org not to long ago so he might still read that forum. That’s just one idea of how to maybe get a hold of him I’m sure if you dug around you can find an email address. The Mad Hatter’s TWGS is down right now he might have just taken the server down because of lack of players its been about a year since I have played there. Also I’m not even sure if the old extender files as you call them work with the new version of Tradewars. shrug |

Pretty sure they won't work with this version. I believe you have to go to a version from many moons ago. |
