Basically just can't get it to work lol. Don't know if it is me, or not. This is what I know and what I am doing:

Portion of Command.doc located with the TWGS:
To issue a command to TW2002 from the command line, use this format:

TW2002 COMMAND=[Command] DATA=[Datapath]

Where [Datapath] is the path to the game that will process this command. For
example, if TWGS is located at C:\TWGS and you've placed a game in the
default location, the path would be DATA=C:\TWGS\GAME\TW1.

The command I am using is Ranks. I am also specifing the correct datapath (being the tw1 (aka game folder, and there is a TW1 present). As far as I know I am doing everything right lol. Only thing I am unsure on is the words Command Line....Does Command Line = Dos Prompt? And if so, do I need to be at the C: Prompt, or the TWGS folder? Or do I just have the wrong prompt? lol

Anyways, any help with this would be appriciated, as I am wanting to make and keep updated a Rankings page on my website, and this feature would simpilify the process lol.

Thanks in advance.

ok , first thing is the path is incorrect.

TWGS is located at C:Program Files\EIS\TWGS\Game\tw#

But the Rank data is stored in Gold folder , eith default one or in TW# (game number) folder under Gold folder there.

I hope this is of some help

Thanks Vid, didn't solve the problem, but it did correct one thing I was doing wrong lol. For some reason it is saying that tw2002 is non-exisitant, or or the command is bad.

The one thing I am still unsure of is if by Command Prompt they mean Dos prompt, Run Prompt, or what? lol I have tried from both and no luck.

Thanks in advance for any info.

From what it looks like, the "Command Line" reference is basically telling you to drop to DOS (START/RUN/'CMD'), jump to the folder where TW2002 is located, and excute from there.

If it's a nightly routine, or script, you'll have to create a batch file that will do the above, and point TWGS to the .bat using an absolute path (C:\path\to\batch\file.bat)

Not sure if I'm out in left field here, but that's what I think that you were looking for.

More specifically, drop to DOS, jump to the ...\TWGS\Game folder. That's where your TW2002.EXE is located, and that's where you would issue your command from. You could use .\TW# to point to your patricular game from that folder, but I believe that an absolute path (C:\...\TWGS\TW#) would be better.

Hmmm, yeah, that did clarify that I was doing it from the correct prompt, and path (after help from Vulcan). Some reason it still tells me that tw2002 is not an excutable command...may just be something with my particular setup lol In any case thanks for the help none-the-less :)

I might just have to go with the fallback of trying to make a bot program to check each game and dump the info (mainly need trader ranks, and corp ranks) to a text file. If anyone has done this before and could help me with doing so, or some basic ideas on how the code would look (as mode coding skills are weak at best), that would be greatly appricated. Just a thought, but feel free to email or IM any details on that you may have. Thanks in advance :)

This looks like it is not working. Either it is a bug, or JP has this feature turned off.

I too am unable to get either of the two commands to work. And I also tried this with an older version(v1.11.42), with the same results.

So I truely assume that JP has this feature disabled for some reason.

DOS is simple, forget how windows works.

CD C:\wherevertw2002exeislocated\

\game\tw1\
thru
\game\tw10\

when I try it, I get the message

"Only the Gold game allows more than 5000 sectors"

explain that one to me....

I tried the gold folder also, just says it cant find the file (obviously, since the file isn't in the gold folders)
