I'm getting some very strange reports about revision 42. Some people are having no problems, while others are experiencing catastrophic data corruption. I suspect that it has something to do with the data condition before the upgrade. I'm looking for people who have installed 42 to tell me what version they upgrade from, what OS they're using, and whether or not they experienced problems. Also, some people have reported problems in some but not all games, and some have been in Gold while others have been in classic games. I haven't found a common link between the corrupted games yet. If you haven't upgraded to .42, definitely back up your data before you do. If you then experience problems, please send me your data files for the problem game so I can try to recreate the conditions that lead to the corruption. Thanks! Well this crap is UNPLAYABLE, and I wont upgrade to this version for my server until is fixed. TOO MANY problems, corpies jumping off planets everywhere. The game is way better the way it used to be, And I bet if the fotons werent the way they are now, and we could actually have grid wars, that there would still be disconnect problems. TV |

Thanks for the report, Trader Vic. I'm not sure why it took so long to start getting reports that players are dropping from planets, but I know about it now and will fix it as soon as I can. I don't know what you're referring to about Photons, or disconnect problems. If you could elaborate, I'll see what I can do. |

If they are refering to any of my games, I'm running 2.11, imported games from 1.03. Both machines are running XP Pro. Disconnects could be due to the power drops I seem to be experiencing about every morning right now for some reason. And this could lead to the data corruption. |

Micro is running the first instance of TWGS v2.12 where I believe I've fixed this glitchy prompt behavior that's plagued the game lately. Trader Vic, have you noticed any improvement? Anything else to report? If things go well on that site for awhile, I'll get the new version out there for everyone. |

Seems to be up. Was it a game that you can't run, or the server just not connecting? |

Would one of the new revisions effect the auto login? I seem to be having a problem with that. Of course it's with MomBot. |

I just installed 2.12 and have not tried that yet. I'm using Mombot 1.032, I think Helix did some minor updates and has version 1.033 on his site if you want to give that a try. |

[edit]Obviously I can't read... :/[/edit] Since you didn't say what helper, I'm going to assume TWXProxy. Yes, the opening banner was changed. You need to modify the 1_Login.ts script as follows: #waitfor "Trade Wars 2002 Game Server" waitfor "TradeWars Game Server" or you could trigger on: waitfor "Server registered" as this is the same for both TWGS v1 & v2 |
