My questions weren't answered? I even tried e-mailing Rave but got no response.

My apologies Criswell. I've been on a couple trips so far this month (am on another at the moment) and have been struggling just to find the time to read posts, let alone respond to all of them.

Regarding ships disappearing, this isn't something that I'm familiar with in any recent revision of the game. What exactly makes the sector you parked these ships in a secure sector?

Regarding PORTINIT.EXE, this executable is not meant to be run outside of the game. PORTINIT.EXE automatically runs when modifications are made to ports (new ports, port production upgrades, etc.) PORTINIT.EXE modifies the ports production ability and the maximum cost change of the three products.

That's okay, I was beginning to wonder if it was my deoderant.

It was a sector with several planets in a blind alley with 5000 figs defending the sector (c), 250 mines (c) and Q-cannons on three of the five planets set at 10% sector shot. An interdictor and scout were parked in orbit and simply vanished. No messages are turned off, nothing in the logs.

That actually sounds pretty familiar. What version of the game is this? I half remember this as a bug report back with an older version of the TWGS. I could also see this easily being a problem with door version 3.08 considering how much trouble it had with data corruption.

This is the latest version of Gold, downloaded a month ago, running on the latest version of TWGS.
