I just registered TWGS Lite and 2002 v3. I have never used these programs before and am having problems registering them. I registered the twgs no problem. All I had to do was paste that informatiOn.
did you copy all of the registration information in 1 block. Or did you do it in multiple blocks.
Example: Did you highlight and copy -
TWGS Key:
TWGS Code:
TWv3 Key:
TWv3 Code:
Gold Code:
And then use the 'Paste Code' button on the registration tab of the configuration menu?
Or did you only highligh -
TWGS Key:
TWGS Code:
Or
TWGS Key:
And then past it. Then copy the rest and paste them?
If you have done the previous. Then something has gone wacky with your pasting. Trying following one of the 3 options below.
If you have done the last, then you have 3 Options available to you.(There really is 4 options. But, I will only describe 3 of them. Sence they are the easiest.)
Option 1: Copy all of the codes in 1 block then use the 'Paste Codes' button on the registration tab. Verify that TWv3 codes was entered. By clicking on the 'Enter Trade Wars/Gold Codes' button. While here enter what you want the Sysop name to be.
Option 2: Use the 'Enter Trade Wars/Gold Codes' button on the registration tab. And either copy and pase each code, or enter them by hand. All codes and names are case sensitive. Enter Sysop name as you want.
Option 3: BigBang a game. Enter no for if you have registered. Use default setting for bigbang, don't worry can fix this later. Once BigBang is done. Select the 'Editors' button, also known as TEdit. When in TEdit select option 'G', for General Editor One edit menu. At the top of the menu. You will see the 4 options to enter your registration, and sysop name. Press 'Y' to enter your TWv3 Key, you must type all codes in here. So make sure it is correct and that it is case sensitive. Press 'Z' to enter your TWv3 Code. Press 'W' to enter your Gold Code, if you have one. Then press 'X' to enter the name you want to use for Sysop. (Sysop = System Operator)
Once you have done that press 'Q' to quit and then 'Q' again. Once back to the TWGS Command Center. You can then use BigBang again to setup the universe to what you want. Or leave the current game universe alone. From now on, all new games will have the registration godes.

Now I need to know how to register my tw 2002. This is how I have tried to do it. I start a game in twgs. Then I go to bigbang and it asks if I have registered. I say Yes. Then I put in my registeration number. Then it asks if I have registered for tw gold, and I say no. Then it brings up the screen where I can change how many planets, and other information. On the top it tells me that I am running an unregistered copy. Someone please help. I e-mailed John and this is what he told me.
Are you entering the code in TEDIT, General Editor One?
What JP ment was the 'Editors' Button from the Command Center. In the old days of Trade Wars 2002, before TWGS. TEdit was a way for you to edit certain setting for each game. Now a days, it is still there. But, you access it from the 'Editors' button from the Command Center.
See above option 3 for entering registration .

You must use the 'Editors' button from the Command Center, to load up TEdit.
