I had a couple of sectors with up to 200 million Corporation figs set defensive to protect our bubble gates. I went on vacation for a couple of weeks and came back to find these sectors either completely emptied of figs or with only 50K. The sectors have 5 planets, are NOT on MSL's, NOT adjacent to FedSpace sectors, and my corpies say they did not move or take figs while I was gone. There were no messages indicating that other players or Ferrengi attacked these sectors while I was gone. This game is Version 3.x, TWGS Gold, and is supposed to allow up to 2 billion sector figs as long as the sector has at least one planet in it. So what happened to my figs? Is there someting in Extern or the game program I don't know about that erases a player's sector figs at random intervals? I suppose the sysop could have done this with T-edit manually, but why would he?

You said your in a game running v3.x .. I'll assume you mean v3.11.55
Any how this is a error with v55 due to part of the code to clean up aliens with over 50k in orbit .. it effected the whole game and is probly fixed in the next release (Keep an eye out for it).

Also it happened at extern.

In v.55 there exists a known bug (which has already been corrected for the .56 release) where an alien entering a sector with more than 50k figs (even those that do not belong to the aliens) will reset the number of sector fighters to a maximum of 50,000.

I'd check your messages that you received while you were on vacation. If any aliens entered the sectors where these fighters disappeared from, then that's most likely what happened. If no aliens entered the sector then something else is going on.
