Hi all,
I'm working on a new, very fast telnet client, and I'm wondering exactly how fast it needs to be. The information I'm looking for is how many lines per second the twgs can put out, as I can measure how fast my telnet window can update in frames per second. Has anyone done any measurements like this? The biggest line dump I can think of is doing a CIM port dump on a fully explored universe on a local connection. Anyone know how long this would take? I'm not interested in char's per second, just lines, because that tells me how many times I have to update the screen. Another problem is that the test can't be altered by another telnet window, so something like TWX in a mode where it doesn't display the output, or even j-twat with the terminal window off would need to be used. Any ideas? Is someone interested in doing this? I can see it as good information for many helper writers to have.
Thanks,
badboy
