Hey, I'm getting the can't bind to the port error, but I don't think it's the typical problem with the port being used. I think there are some settings that got messed up because I was running it stand alone and then installed synchronet... Anyhow I digress, I need to delete the files associated with the program so I can just get a clean version, I'm convinced it's screwed up, and since I haven't really started my game, it's no biggie to delete everything with it... It's keeping all my old settings, like IP or domain, everything I put in there. I've tried deleting the directory manually, and doing it through the installer. I've done all the combinations, repair, modify, delete, uninstall, turn off computer to clear memory,... I keep seeing those settings from the old install!!! Where are these files and how can I get rid of them so I can get this working? Thanks! |

Open a command prompt, and type: nbtstat -nabo |more Code: Active Connections Proto Local Address Foreign Address State PID TCP 0.0.0.0:135 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 920 RpcSs [svchost.exe] TCP 0.0.0.0:445 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 Can not obtain ownership information TCP 0.0.0.0:554 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1380 [wmpnetwk.exe] TCP 0.0.0.0:2002 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 2892 [LogMeIn.exe] TCP 0.0.0.0:2869 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 This gives you a list of port bindings. As you can see, port 2002 is bound to wmpnetwk.exe (Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service) on my desktop. I have also seen it bound to LogmeIn and various other programs. Synchronet BBS will bind to several ports, including port 23 and 80. |
