Just as an FYI, the ICE9 Server has been experiencing severe problems throughout the day and keeps crashing. I have been performing attempts to fix throughout the day but none have been sucessful. I will let you know when I bring the server back on line.

Server is back up. Still not sure what is wrong, but I stopped a bunch of unnecessary services, so I am hoping that helps.

I was having the same types of problems at the end of this week. I too couldn't track it down, but it locked up my server and I had to cold boot it a couple of time. After my unsuccessful attempts to track it down I contacted my service provider and they were able to track the problem down to some new DOS attack. They implemented some fix and it's been up and running fine after that. I'll see if they can tell me the fix they had to implement and relay it here for you. Maybe it will help?

If it happens again I will ask about that... what I think finally ended up helping it was I found a list on line of services that Windows defaults to having on, but you do not need in most instances. Turned most of them off, and it seems to be stable for the moment.

Yes. Windows is bad about using small programs for instances and not closing them. Sometimes an occasional reboot or memory manager is nessesary to keep the system from bogging down.

Another issue was running TWGS as a service. I know on our system that using the service for TWGS caused us nothing but issues. Not too sure what the bug was, but once I stopped using the "service" for TWGS, all ran perfectly.

If you're running XP you can configure the machine to boot automatically to a user, then put TWGS and any other startup services in the start folder. Makes it easy.
