Well the new server is almost online. However I am needing to stress test the system. I was thinking about creating an unlimited turns / no rules / bots encouraged game of SubZero to make it a bit more interesting. Anyone interested? |

You may find more volunteers if you put server data up server address server port game letter max sectors All of these will drive players there for your server testing. Otherwise , how do you figure to draw players there for your testing ? just my $.02 |

Remember we're trying to break this and all feedback is welcome I have a script that will provide as much detail of your bangs as you wish. Y-City is currently using it if you want to see what it does. Look for a RiverCity bang of Wizard of Oz for a full game report. If you want a copy of the script, let me know in a PM with your email addy. Note: If any of the information formats as blue on the game info, you might want to take a look at the setting - one is ISP being off. |

Thanks for the ping results. After looking at your results I looked and the whole server was locked up.. DOH!! This is why you test... lol I am going to try reinstalling TWGS and see if a fresh install can clear up some of these strange issues... Thanks for the help everyone... See you in a couple of days, once I get these kinks worked out. LaChild |

LaChild , one thing to keep an eye on is in each game folder : TWMAIL.DAT if over 1 meg ... shut server down and delete this file , it will come back upon restart. This is caused by alien messages mostly. If you have other issues ICQ me , I'm in a differant time zone , so your late nights early morning is my afternoons. |

Thanks for the info, I had no idea that would happen. I'd also like to thank all thoughs that help with this last night and it did help me track down the problem. After a little more testing I found that while TWGS appears to work fine via wine on Linux, the reality is that after a while the program will lock up completely. This is unfortunate as I never like putting windows boxes on the front lines... However, I have decided to shoot myself in the foot and am currently moving the server to a windows box (doh). Guess this will have to work until either wine gets improved or EIS decides to put out a linux compatible client. Thanks again everyone, LaChild |
