I finally sat down and tried installing TWGS (last version available). When I get to the 'Welcome to the installshield Wizard' screen, it just *poof* vanishes and doesn't complete the install. I'm attempting to install this on a Windows 2000 Server (same system I'm running my BBS on) - it's a 233Mhz (soon to be a DUAL processor system) with 512M memory. Is there a list showing the 'minimum' system requirements to run the server? Thanks! Jim |

Ok , just a guess here .. You may have to shut system down with a fresh reboot and nothing else running. Try a fresh install. I think you BBS may have interupted the install script. Let us know how it goes. |

Found it! I tried removing everything from startup and rebooting - but that didn't work. I tried installing it on another machine and it seemed to install and run fine. It seems that it vanishes JUST before the EIS logo screen appears. I went and changed the color setup of my BBS machine from 256 Colors to a higher setting and it installed! The problem I have is that the server (Dell poweredge 2200) only allows a resolution of 1024x768 at 256 colors but 800x600 at a higher color setting so i dropped it back to 800x600 and 16 bit color, installed it and then changed back to 1024x768. Hopefully the server itself keeps running - it seems to so far. I need the 1024x768 because of all the stuff I have on the screen at once. Thanks! Jim |

Some video drivers do this too, you might want to try updating your driver. Also see if it happens in conjunction with any other program, logmein's client for instance can cause this to happen. |

No updated drivers available (video is onboard so even switching out the card is not an option). Never heard of logmein. Jim |

It's a Dell Poweredge 2200 and all the slots are full. |
